Grand Risings - Starting Your Day With Intentions as a Mom

As a mom, the starts of your day can often feel like a whirlwind of activity—rushing to get everyone ready, preparing breakfast, packing lunches, and getting out the door on time. In the midst of this chaos, it's easy to overlook the importance of starting your day with intention and mindfulness.

However, incorporating mindfulness into your rising routine can set a positive tone for the rest of the day, helping you feel more grounded, calm, and present.

Benefits of Starting Your Day Mindfully:

+ Cultivates a sense of calm: By taking time to center yourself and focus on the present moment, you can start your day with a greater sense of calm and peace.

+ Increases focus and productivity: Mindfulness practices such as meditation or deep breathing can help sharpen your focus and enhance your productivity throughout the day.

+ Boosts mood and positivity: Starting your day with positive intentions and gratitude can improve your mood and outlook on life, leading to a more fulfilling day ahead.

+ Sets a positive example for your children: When children see their parents practicing mindfulness, they're more likely to adopt these habits themselves, promoting emotional well-being and resilience.

Practical Tips for Mindful Risings:

1. Wake up early: Give yourself some extra time in the rising to ease into your day without feeling rushed. Waking up just 15-30 minutes earlier can make a big difference. I personally like waking up an hour or so before my children do but everyone’s sleep needs are different!

2. Start with gratitude: Before getting out of bed, take a few moments to express gratitude for the new day ahead and the blessings in your life. This can help shift your mindset to one of positivity and abundance. You can recite I AM THANKFUL FOR THIS NEW DAY.

3. Practice mindfulness exercises: Incorporate mindfulness practices such as meditation, deep breathing, or gentle yoga into your rising routine. Even just a few minutes of mindfulness can have a HUGE impact on your day.

4. Set intentions: Take a few moments to set intentions for how you want to show up in the world today. Whether it's being more patient with your children, staying focused at work, or prioritizing self-care, etc. Setting intentions can help guide your actions throughout the day.

5. Enjoy a mindful break fast: Instead of rushing through breakfast, take the time to savor each bite mindfully. Pay attention to the flavors, textures, and sensations of your food, and practice eating without distractions.

6. Connect with your children: Use your rising routine as an opportunity to connect with your children on a deeper level. Engage in meaningful conversations, give hugs and kisses, and express your love and appreciation for them. Let them know how happy you are to spend another day with them!

Starting your day with intention and mindfulness as a mom can have so many benefits for both you and your family.

By incorporating simple practices into your rising routine, you can cultivate a greater sense of calm, focus, and positivity that will carry you through the day ahead.

Remember, it's not about adding more to your to-do list, but rather about approaching each moment with presence and intention. Here's to more mindful risings and happier days ahead!
